HPS Simulations Privacy Statement
General
HPS Simulations collects various data from customers in the course of providing general information, technical support and product sales. In all cases, data must be provided voluntarily by the customer; HPS will never scan a customers computer system or otherwise gain data on a customer without first notifying the customer and obtaining his or her consent. Data Collected and Uses Email: When email is sent to HPS for the purpose of requesting information or obtaining technical support, HPS records the senders name and email address. This data is used for the sole purpose of returning a reply to the inquiry. Although most messages are deleted within 14 days, some emails may be saved by HPS for the purpose of improving responsiveness and customer service. Specifically, email messages concerning issues that have a high chance of reoccurring may be archived for an indefinite period to provide a ready future reference. HPS will honor all customer requests to remove names and email addresses from archived email messages. Requests should be sent to: support@hpssims.com.
Mailing and Associated Lists: HPS may maintain a number of "Event Notification", or "Opponents Wanted" mailing lists in which customers voluntarily submit their email address in order to receive information on company events. Once submitted, email addresses are kept until the list is cancelled, or until the customer requests to be removed. Requests for removal should be sent to: wrangler@hpssims.com.
Product Orders: When a customer orders a product though the secure HPS web site, the data collected by HPS includes the customers name, shipping address, billing address, phone number, and email address. This data is required to process and ship the order, and to provide short-term customer service and support. This order information is entered directly into the permanent HPS sales database, which is retained indefinitely. In order to maintain the highest level of security possible, credit card numbers entered via the online store are entered directly in the secure credit card processor site. The numbers are not accessible to HPS during any stage of the ordering process or afterwards, aside from the "first and last 4 digits", which are used for reference in case of inquiries. HPS uses an industry-standard secure transmission method of customer data from the web site. In the course of providing this security, data packets or "cookies" may be transmitted between the customers computer and the HPS web site. Credit card numbers from orders placed by methods other than the online store are entered into our permanent sales database and maintained indefinitely for reference. For security, the permanent database is maintained "offline", and can not be accessed via the internet. It is HPS policy that data contained in its sales database is considered confidential, and will never be used for any sort of "mailing" not requested by the customer, whether physical ("junk mail") or electronic ("spam"). The only exception is for the HPS newsletter, which may be published occasionally on an "as needed" basis to answer common questions and add to the enjoyment of HPS products. Customers not wishing to receive the newsletter need only contact wrangler@hpsims.com in order to be removed from the mailing list. Further, HPS will not sell, lease, trade, or give away for free any sales database data, in any form, to any third party. |
