"A town captured by the enemy is like a maid who has lost her honor," thought Napoleon.  In the clear morning light he gazed now at Moscow and now at the plan, considering its details, and the assurance of possessing it agitated and awed him. "...Here is this capital at my feet. Where is Alexander now, and of what is he thinking?  ...One word from me, one movement of my hand, and that ancient capital of the Tsars would perish. But my clemency is always ready to descend upon the vanquished.  I must be magnanimous and truly great...I shall spare her....I will give them just laws; I will teach them the meaning of true civilization, I will make generations...remember their conqueror with love....I will accept terms of peace worthy of myself and of my people."

--Tolstoy, War and Peace

NAPOLEON'S

RUSSIAN
CAMPAIGN
a John Tiller game

In 1812, Napoleon took the greatest risk of his military career. His
conquest of continental Europe had resulted in every major power having been defeated by his military might. But one conquest remained, that of Russia and her armies. This campaign, over the vast distances of Russia, would be far different and far longer than any he had attempted before.
Will Napoleon prevail and his conquest of continental Europe
be complete or will defeat find him on the frozen steppes
of the Russian territory?

"In our day no one has conceived anything great; it falls to me to give the example."
--Napoleon I

Napoleon's Russian Campaign covers Napoleon's complete campaign in Russia, from the first battles through Borodino and the retreat of the Grand Army. Over 20 maps and over 100 scenarios are included in the game together with a scenario editor and the ability to make an unlimited number of additional scenarios. Also included is a campaign game which allows the player to conduct the complete Russian campaign, making all the significant decisions which will decide the course of the campaign. As Napoleon, the player can choose to be cautious or bold, and possibly change the outcome of history...or be doomed to repeat the mistakes of the French campaign.
